Romantic Homemade Gift Ideas

If you want a gift that is really going to take your special someone's breath away and let them know how much they mean to you, then you should think about making them a gift. It doesn't take much effort to drive to the mall and buy jewelry or log on the net to order flowers for the love of your life. Yes of course it says, "Hey I remembered with out you telling me," but is that really the message you are trying to send?

In the time it takes you to drive to the mall, walk through the stores to find something that you think your mate will like, you could just as easily make a homemade gift for them. This goes for men and women. Face it ladies, a man enjoys a homemade gift just as much as you do, and men... why don't you be different then any other man she has every been with and make her something special. If you are struggling for ideas, we are going to offer you a couple of suggestions. However we are also going to impart some wisdom as well to keep in mind while you are creating the ideal romantic gift.

First, many people have the misconception that a gift has to be something that the person really wants but wouldn't buy for themselves. That may be true in some cases and for some people depending on the relationship you have with them. Really though, when it comes to that special someone the gift should tell them how you feel about them, how important they are to you and that they are the one and only for you. Make your gift to them one of a kind.

For example, suppose there is a favorite place that you and your mate have. A place where you shared a very special memory, something that bonded the two of you together. Instead of taking them back to that place, create it at home. If it's the beach, you can convert your bathroom or living room into a tropical getaway. Run a bath, get a CD of nature sounds with waves, tropical scented candles and your favorite drink. A restaurant, here is your opportunity to cook dinner for the one that you love. Recreate that special meal you had, even if it is just grilled cheese and tomato soup from a picnic you shared when you first told one another that you loved each other.

You can also create a personalized CD filled with songs that say how you feel about the other person. You can include songs from your first dance, the song you heard on the radio on your first date. This takes time and thought. You don't want to include just any songs. You are trying to convey a message that tells the other person how you feel.

If you would rather not make a CD and want to opt for something a little more personal write them a poem. Don't worry about whether it rhymes or follows a certain pattern. This is you telling them that they are really special to you. You don't have to be lyrically gifted, you can go to the library and check out a book of poetry and copy your favorite poem and give it to them hand written on nice stationary or parchment paper, tie it with a ribbon.

These are of course just a few suggestions with wise words for creating the perfect homemade romantic gift for that special some one in your life.
